Visited my father in law as his cooker stopped working. We contacted them to let them know he was vulnerable. We live near London so couldn’t be there. What a fantastic company. Turned up on time, assessed the situation, realised he’d turned the oven to automatic which stopped it from turning on when he needed it. He was ready to buy a new oven.
We need more suppliers and workmen link this company. Can highly recommend. Thank you so much. Service: Oven repair

I bought a tumble dryer here (probably the wrong one for my needs but the moisture sensor may well have been malfunctioning so I asked them to come and check it).
The chap came out to test the moisture sensor but tested the element (which I knew was working). When I mentioned a refund he flashed me a printed page on consumer rights from gov.uk but wouldn't let me look at it or tell me the address of the page then shouted at me when i pointed out that there are 93000 (!) pages on consumer rights on gov.uk and it might take me a while to find it.
I was told that he could take it back to the shop to test the sensor but he wouldn't bring it back if it was working. I was told repeatedly that he had more important things to do with his time.
I was eventually (aggressively) offered a refund with a £20 handling fee which I accepted but feel a little cheated as he had come to test the moisture sensor and If it was found to be faulty I would have been due a full refund.
I feel particularly miffed as I chose an unknown brand from a local, independent supplier when I could have bought a brand I knew from a chain for much less.
His parting shot was to advise me that I should have bought it from AO as online purchases allow a cooling off period-to allow consumers to change their minds.
Which I have done and a new machine should be here tomorrow!

I had a problem with my gas hob The piezo electric igniters were 'shorting' as I spilt water down them......
After a brief explanation of their workings the advice, correct, was to unplug the power to the ignitors leave them to dry out for a week or so and light the burners by hand in the interim.
Problem solved
